If you plan to go on a fishing trip in Dubai during summertime (specifically from June – August), there are a few things you need to be aware of. This blog highlights some of these things, as well as tips for fishing in Dubai during summer.

  • Avoid high-heat times – Start your fishing trip no later than 6:00 am, or not earlier than 3:00 pm. This ensures that your whole trip is spent during early morning or late afternoon, hence avoiding high-heat times. It is also worth noting that from 15 June – 15 September, fishing charters in Dubai are NOT allowed to operate fishing tours between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm, in accordance with the directives issued by the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
  • Check with the fishing charter if you could jump into the water for a refreshing dip throughout your Dubai fishing trip. Be careful not to jump into the water if others are fishing at the same time, as you would be at risk of injury from sharp fishing hooks or aquatic animals.
  • Ensure that the boat you are renting out is shaded. Most fishing boats tend to be half-shaded, however, there are also fishing boats that are not shaded, and others that are fully shaded.
  • Apply sunscreen and wear sun-protective clothing. This will ensure you remain safe and comfortable while you enjoy fishing in Dubai!
  • Drink plenty of cold water and fluids, often provided on a complimentary basis by fishing tour operators in Dubai. Hydration is key during hot weather, as our bodies tend to lose a lot of fluid through exertion and sweating.
