However, unlike adults, children lack the ability to make the right judgments when it comes to what is dangerous and what is not. Moreover, they are unable to take care of themselves independently. 

In view of that, it is important to keep in mind the below safety considerations and tips for taking your kids fishing in Dubai:


  • Never send your children without a relative adult’s supervision. If you do not have the time to join your little ones for a fishing trip, wait until the time is right, but never send children alone on a deep-sea fishing trip, even where the fishing charter provides competent staff on board.
  • On any boat or yacht trip, children aged 10 and below must always wear a life jacket as per the law in Dubai. This applies throughout the whole duration of the fishing trip. Always ask for one if not offered. Fishing charters that do not have life jackets onboard are in clear violation of the law in Dubai and may not be authentic fishing charters.
  • In general, children of all ages may join for a fishing trip. However, it is highly recommended that a child is at least three years old before taking them on a deep-sea fishing trip.
  • Do not leave children unattended. During a deep-sea fishing trip, it is important to keep an eye on your kids to keep them from harm. Potential harms include sharp objects (e.g. fishing hooks) and slippery surfaces.
