Preparing for your Fishing Trip

28th Apr 2022

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”.

- Benjamin Franklin

Already booked your Dubai deep-sea fishing trip? Perfect! It is now time to prepare well for the experience! Preparation is key to enjoying a memorable experience. A lack of preparation could often make a good fishing tour a bad one!

Once your fishing trip booking is confirmed, the first step is to communicate the confirmation to the persons joining you onboard, whether they are family or friends. We would also highly advise that you share this blog with them, so they can enjoy the fishing trip as much as you well!

Family Fishing Trip in Dubai

On the day before the trip, you want to make sure all the following is readily available, as applicable:

  • Sunglasses
  • Headwear
  • UV-protective clothing
  • Sunscreen
  • Tanning oil
  • Snacks
  • Seasickness pills (readily available OTC in most pharmacies in Dubai for less than AED 10)
  • Icebox to take your catch back home
  • Fully charged mobile phone

If your fishing trip is in the early morning, be sure to get enough sleep the night before the trip. Fishing can be a tiring activity, and unless you get enough sleep the night before, it might not be as fun!

As you wake up and get ready, ensure that all passengers take their seasickness pills around 45 minutes prior to departure time. Seasickness is the leading cause of dissatisfaction during a fishing charter tour. You do not want to miss out on the fun!

When heading to the boat fishing departure spot in Port Rashid Marina, aim to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than your scheduled fishing trip start time. This will ensure that you are able to depart on time and enjoy the longest hours fishing offshore!

Finally, take lots of pictures! They stay forever. You can share your photos on your personal Instagram and tag Ocealics on www.instagram.com/Ocealics

Have fun and stay safe!
