Engulfed within the busyness of life, we tend to forget that in the end, the most valuable things will be our experiences, our memories. In Dubai, the land of experiences, a wide array of activities has been made available to people of different ages, backgrounds, and personal preferences. A unique activity with deep historic roots in the UAE tends to often be overlooked in comparison to the modernized evolution of the Emirate of Dubai.

With a coast of about 72 km in length, the waters of Dubai have proven to be an interesting getaway for water activities enthusiasts. With an aim to reveal this hidden gem of a getaway, Ocealics provides deep sea fishing trips, a few kilometers off the coast of Dubai, around the World Islands area.

Offshore fishing in Dubai is a unique bonding activity, where families, friends, and even colleagues, strengthen their bonds with each other and create everlasting memories. While such memories begin with setting foot on a fishing boat, it does not end with setting foot outside the fishing boat. All fish caught will be yours, to enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner together, as you recall the good times you had offshore.

Due to Dubai’s strategic location and manmade islands, and a range of depths between 17 – 25m, the Emirate inhabits some of the most interesting saltwater fish species in the world. When booking your fishing charter in Dubai, you are expected to encounter diverse species of fish, including Kingfish, Trevallies, Emperor Fish, Barracudas, Cobias, Groupers, Queenfish, Sea Breams, and Tuna. If you were lucky, you may also encounter some dolphins and sea turtles!

Deep-sea fishing tours are available to individuals of all ages, races, nationalities, and genders. Uniquely, fishing in Dubai is suitable for both adrenaline junkies and individuals who simply prefer to have a good quiet time in the middle of the sea. While some perceive fishing to be an activity more suitable for men, statistics show that a huge portion of fishing charters’ customers is adventurous women who join other women in investing their time into a memorable experience.

Deep-sea fishing trips usually include a half-day fishing package (4 full hours of fishing), for up to 5 persons per trip. Trips usually take place in the early morning when you can enjoy the sunrise and afternoon times when you can enjoy the sunset. Worried about what to bring with you? Our fishing trips tend to be all-inclusive! Complimentary cold refreshments are provided free of charge, and fishing and safety equipment is provided for the duration of the trip. Moreover, Ocealics offers different kinds of fishing, such as bait bottom fishing, jigging, casting, and trolling fishing.

If you are booking a fishing trip with your family, friends, or colleagues, you could elect to book a private fishing trip for your group alone. Or if you are joining alone, or wish to meet new friends, you could elect to go for shared fishing trips, and for only a fraction of the price for private fishing trips!

Generally, as Dubai is a very warm city, when booking a fishing tour, you are advised to bring along some sunscreen, headwear, and UV-protection clothing. Or alternatively, replace those with a bottle of tanning oil for a new look!

It is also advised to take OTC seasickness pills, around 45 minutes prior to your departure time. Such pills are readily available in most pharmacies and usually cost no more than AED 10. Such a small investment could make the difference between a good day fishing and a bad day fishing.

Last but not least, it is worth noting that fishing is also a dangerous activity to some extent. All fishing tours in the UAE are guided tours, where the guides are on board to ensure your safety and that you enjoy a good time. In particular, watch out for slippery floors, wear your life jackets (readily available on all boats), and avoid direct contact with marine species.

Don’t forget to have fun!
