Bag limit for fishing in Dubai
Then, what about Dubai? Is there a fishing bag limit in Dubai?
In order to obtain an accurate answer to this question, Ocealics reached out to Dubai Municipality, being the relevant Government entity in Dubai regulating fishing practices in the waters of the Emirate.
As helpful as they always are, Dubai Municipality quickly responded to our query via e-mail, as shown below:
E-mail from Dubai Municipality on the Bag Limit for Fishing in Dubai
For non-Arabic speakers, the translation to the above e-mail is as follows:
“Please note that there is no limit on the quantity of fish for recreational fishermen as per the current legislation, however, we encourage fishermen to catch no more than their daily need…”
In other words, there is no bag limit for recreational fishing in Dubai, whether on board a fishing charter in Dubai, or onshore. Nevertheless, Dubai Municipality provides excellent advice by stating that one should not catch more than their daily need of fish, hence preserving the aquatic environment of Dubai, and limiting harmful overfishing practices.
What about Ocealics?
If the above got you thinking, how many fish are you allowed to catch with Ocealics?
The answer is, as many as you can! Even if the fish caught is too many to take back home, you can leave your fish with Ocealics. Our team will give away the fish to the many workers at the port, who would appreciate your kind gesture and enjoy a fresh meal!
Did you know that many of Ocealics’ guests are only joining for the enjoyable experience, and often leave without taking any fish back home, even though guests may take their whole catch back home?! The fish are then given away for free to the workers around the port!
Keep your catch, or give it away!
