Shape and color
The Delagoa Threadfin Bream has a small elongated body covered in sharp scales, that is pink in color with a silver belly.
Habitat
They are commonly found swimming around the ocean’s bottom in sandy and muddy areas. They can be found swimming individually, in pairs, and in schools.
Feeding
They are known for bottom feeding by sifting sand. They feed on many marine species including worms, small fish, and crustaceans (especially those hiding in the sand).
Fishing season
They are very common fish in the waters of the UAE and can be encountered throughout the year and do not seem to prefer one season over another.
Fishing method
They can be caught using various fishing techniques including fishing nets, fishing rods, and fish traps (locally known as Gargoor).
